Guarantee

 
We offer two levels of guarantee. Our gates and railings are guaranteed for ten years, whilst he rest of our products are guaranteed for two years.
 
Gates and Railings
Our gates and railings carry a 10-year guarantee against faulty workmanship, this covers the cost of replacing the defective product; it does not cover consequential expenses incurred as a result of replacing the product, such as fitting and finishing costs. We will not accept responsibility for any damage caused by incorrect assembly. We will not reimburse the cost of repairs undertaken to gates or railings without our prior consent, and such repairs would also invalidate your guarantee. Please note that our guarantee is only applicable in the United Kingdom.
Full details of the guarantee will be sent to you along with your wrought iron gate or railing (the terms are also printed at the bottom of this page as well).

Please note we do not guarantee against rust; rust is a natural effect on iron, we supply all our metal gates and railings with a choice of finishes, allowing you to decide on the level of protection you want.
 
Should the item be found to be faulty and covered by guarantee we will pay your costs for returning the item to us and the redelivery costs. Should the goods be found not to be faulty and are not covered by guarantee then you will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us and the redelivery of the item to you.

Please ensure that when sending a metal entrance gate or metal railing back that you include details of who is returning it, with a contact phone number and/or email address and your invoice number, so that we may process your request quickly for you.

We aim to resolve all matters within 28 days.

What the guarantee does and does not cover

Your guarantee covers the cost of repairing or replacing the defective product, whichever is deemed more appropriate by us.

It does not cover consequential expenses incurred as a result of replacing the product, such as fitting and finishing costs. We will not accept responsibility for any damage caused by incorrect assembly.

Furthermore it does not cover accidental damage, abuse, neglect or routine servicing matters.

The guarantee does not cover any components supplied free of charge with the product.

Please note we do not guarantee against rust; rust is a natural effect on iron.

Please note that our guarantee is only applicable in the United Kingdom.

This guarantee is non-transferable, it is only valid for the product it is issued for and the person it is issued to.

If you wish to make a claim under the guarantee

As with any claim, you should notify Blackbourne Iron as soon as the problem becomes apparent. Delaying notification may affect your rights under this guarantee.

All claims should be made in writing. Any claims not accompanied by a valid guarantee card will be invalid. Your card will be returned to you once your claim has been validated.

If upon inspection, of your gate or railing it is found that you may claim under this guarantee, then cost of returning the item to us will be reimbursed and the repaired/ replaced item will be sent back to you free of charge. If however upon inspection it is found that the problem is not covered under the guarantee, then you will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us and the redelivery of the goods to you.

If the gate or railing has already been installed, then we ask that you call us on 01323 430932, we will then suggest one of the following courses of action:

  • We will come out and inspect the gate or railing and check for defects, and if necessary carry out any necessary repairs or replace the item.
  • We will ask you to send a photograph of the defect to us and to obtain three separate quotations for repairing the defect. In conjunction with you, we will then instruct one tradesman to carry out the work and we will pay them direct.
